Hey There!

As a child, I remember coming home from school every day and drawing a picture in this drawing book I had. I also had books for sticking my favourite stickers and had other creative hobbies. But somewhere along the way, as I grew up, my creativity was shut off by expectations and the structured path laid out for me by the society. I would say, I simply became a robot. I followed the traditional route - focusing on studies just to get good marks and choosing engineering while hating it. Growing up, I always wanted to know what my passion was, but I could never find it as I was heavily disconnected from my heart. I ended up getting a job at the bank, a high paying high-status job per say, but hated it to the moon and back. Then I tried a job in my own field, thought I would like it this time, still no luck. I simply couldn't convince my heart to enjoy something I genuinely disliked, that which was never meant for me. But getting in touch with my God-given desires meant that I had to listen to what the deep within me, my heart, was saying, and that I just couldn't for many years. But even in those days, where my creativity was shut off, I remember wandering in stores, feeling just captivated by beautiful books and planners. I would buy a lot of these books, but I lacked the structure and energy required to truly use them. So, as I jumped jobs, I was searching for my passion. I got my lucky break when I heard a whisper from God, a voice from within, to just draw random patterns on my iPad because I loved drawing random patterns in my sketch book that I use occasionally. As I listened to that subtle whisper and did what it said, I felt an inspiration for the next step, and that is to start an Instagram page to post artwork that carried the message of God's love for us. And I did that. Then I felt an inspiration to design a prayer journal for myself. By this point I knew I had a thing for graphic design. But I didn't quite know what to do with it as a career path. Then, a pivotal moment happened which set the tone for what I'm doing today. A friend of mine shared a designer's Instagram profile with me, and while scrolling, I saw an image of a cute pink book. In that moment, I went, "I'm gonna design books and sell them". It was a like a spark of inspiration, so clear, that I knew I found my passion. I started designing books and then expanded to designing posters, stickers, t-shirt graphics and more. Initially, I wanted to make people happy through my products but a deeper value to what I do struck me as I used my planners and notebooks. There was a pivotal moment in my life, where I was so depressed, couldn't get myself to do anything, my business was seeing no success, and with the energy I had left, I took out my writing journal and started pouring out. As I did so, I started to see my energy shift from emotional chaos to a structured solution-oriented energy, as the pre-frontal cortex of my brain took charge. Then I created an action plan and started using a planner I designed to help organise my schedule. This was life changing as keeping a schedule was always hard for me. But I learned the power journals and planners hold that day, giving me a greater appreciation to what I do. My desire has always been to live life passionately, immersing in every moment in life, even the mundane, and I love to create products and resources that help people feel inspired, grounded, and connected to beauty and creativity, as they discover the flow of life from within.
